FINALLY! 2015 has arrived! I'm sure a lot of us have made our new year's resolutions and year-long to-do lists, and we're all very excited to do them as quickly as we can to make them happen sooner. As for me, I too have made a list of goals and promises for this year to take, but have been trying to slow things down a bit alongside them. Being a high school senior isn't easy, and I've got to hand to it you guys, this school year has been the toughest and roughest one I've had yet. But in spite of the the daily challenges of being a graduating gal (wink!), I always remind myself that success can never be attained overnight, and that it takes more than just luck to achieve it. I hope that whatever situation you guys are in right now, you all have the same mindset as mine and that you won't be discouraged by the obstacles you face.
Below the cut are my January favorites; enjoy!
Book: PAANO BA 'TO? // Bianca Gonzales
Movie: Dead Poets Society
Something school related: STP Grandplay 2015: Ang Pulang Pulseras (I landed the role of the older sister!)
Food: Uji Matcha Green Tea KitKat
Drink: Starbucks' Green Tea Frappe (I'm so late with the hype, I know ;-( )
Hangout Place: Starbucks Eastwood (because they have the nicest baristas I've encountered so far!)
Hangout Place: Starbucks Eastwood (because they have the nicest baristas I've encountered so far!)
Song: Doing It // Charli XCX ft. Rita Ora
Youtube Video: "Slap Her": children's reactions
Purchase: Papal Merchandise!
Quote/s: “as long as you keep working for it,
what is truly yours will not
pass you by."
Note: Bianca gonzales' book was generally "ok", but i was bothered by several of her grammatical errors in filipino. i mean i'm not a filipino teacher or expert, but i do know its basics like knowing when to use "rin" or "din" in a sentence. it was very disappointing knowing that she's currently the editor-in-chief of "meg" magazine and is a columnist of "the philippine star" and YET has failed in editing her OWN book out; and, as much as i think it (HER BOOK) might help a lot of teenAGERS AND YOUTH in daily decision-makinG AND SUCH, lessons on grammar and writing style were completely ignored.

| Movie: Dead Poets Society |
I highly recommend this movie to everyone! This is one of my mom's all-time favorite movies and is now one of mine. It isn't just an ordinary film about a group of friends in a strict boarding school, it's more about brotherhood, family, and well, carpe diem. For those who have watched this movie, high five! You know the meaning behind the title of this blog post.

| Papal rejuvenation |
After waiting for a total of 12 hours to see the Pope twice, my mom and I decided that the change Pope Francis wanted us to incorporate within ourselves needed to be matched up with a symbolical physical change- a haircut! My mom and I are basically #twining now, and I don't really know if that's a good thing in my part (joking). But here it is! I don't know how many inches were cut-off exactly, but I do know that a lot of negatives vibes were cut-off with it.
More details about my Papal experience (and other stuff) will be posted in a different blog post. So for now, I leave you with a quote from Robin Williams' character in "Dead Poets Society": "Seize the day, boys, make your lives extraordinary."
